Kwik Fit adjusts Netherlands management team

As of 1 May, Yutaka Kimbara is the interim chief executive officer of Kwik Fit Nederland. He takes on this role at Kwik Fit`s Dutch operation following the departure of Martin Post, who is now general manager of car distributor Louwman Dealer Group. Kimbara will work in this capacity until a permanent successor to Post is named.

Germany`s Chancellor visits Continental tyre plant

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz carved a tyre prototype and inspected a truck & bus tyre retreading facility during his visit to Continental`s Hannover-Stöcken site yesterday. Accompanied by Dr Ariane Reinhart and Christian Kötz, Scholz also used the event as an opportunity to talk about carbon neutrality just two days after his government enforced the deactivation of Germany`s last three CO2-free nuclear power plants.

Kama Tyres: Exports decline 60% in 2022

The 2022 annual results that Kama Tyres published today show a significant drop in its export business but stable overall production. Of the 12.3 million tyres sold last year, just 9% or some 1.1 million pieces were exported. Compare this with 2021, when Kama Tyres reported exporting 22% of the 12.3 million tyres it made, around 2.7 million tyres.

First tyre rolls off Jiangsu General Cambodian factory production line

On 18 March Jiangsu General`s Cambodian factory produced its first tyre, which means the tyre maker`s second overseas factory is now ramping up its production capacity. Jiangsu General said that the products of the Cambodian plant are mainly produced under the Celimo brand and are sold in the United States, Europe and Brazil.

Bridges tone becomes title sponsor of FIA ecoRally Cup in multi-year support deal

Bridgestone has partnered the Fédération Internationale de lAutomobile (FIA) as the title partner for its sustainability focused competition. The tyre manufacturer has signed a multi-year support agreement for the Bridgestone FIA ecoRally Cup, which aims to address major environmental concerns and foster positive behaviour amongst competitors. The competition was created in 2006. It sees production, road-legal electric vehicles running without modification in regularity events.

Nokian Tyres: 116.2-million-euro loss down to Russian car tyre production gap

Nokian Tyres reports that its fourth-quarter 2022 net sales totalled 411.3 million euros, down 19.8 per cent from 512.6 million euros in October–December 2021. Operating profit was 13.5 million euros (Q4 2022: 88.0 million). Despite that, the company`s full-year 2022 net sales grew 3.6 per cent to 1,776.1 million euros (2021: 1,714.1 million euros). The Ronal Group displays Energy Wheel concept at Essen Motor Show

The Ronal Group has displayed its latest Ronal and Speedline Corse wheels at the Essen Motor Show (3-11 December, Hall 7) including its innovative new Energy Wheel. Bridgestone exclusive OE on Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato

On 30 November 2022 Automobili Lamborghini launched its unconventionally rally-equipped Huracán Sterrato at Art Basel, Miami Beach. Pirelli supplying off-road tyre for Porsche 911

For the first time in the model`s 59-year history, Porsche is specifying an off-road tyre as original equipment for the 911. It has turned to Pirelli, who is delivering the Scorpion All Terrain Plus, a tyre it claims to have [designed for the most challenging conditions." Iochpe-Maxion adheres to [long-term strategic development"

Iochpe-Maxion increased its sales by at least 29.2 per cent worldwide in the past nine months to 12.79 billion Brazilian real (2.47 billion euros). Nexen tyres OE on BMW X1 & iX1

Nexen Tire has become an original equipment supplier for the third-generation BMW X1 and the all-electric iX1. The tyre maker`s plant in Žatec, Czech Republic will manufacture a version of the Nexen N`Fera Sport tailored to meet BMW`s requirements for the compact SUVs. Nexen has not specified the tyre sizes it is supplying to BMW.
